BENEFITS

The aim of the OnLine Africa Knowledge Foundation is to introduce, train and support schools and libraries in the effective use of multimedia and video editing tools for project-based learning. We specialize in Africa and the Diaspora where we focus on the historical linkages that Africa has always had with the entire world. A primary goal is to introduce learners of Black American history to little-known, but validated information data bases that will expand awareness of African-American and African contributions to global civilization which was first recorded ca. 2000 BC.

Educators will be able to connect to resources and expertise that improve their own instructional practices and guide them in becoming facilitators and collaborators in their students' increasingly self-directed learning. Teachers will develop new understanding to capitalize on the educational potential of culture-specific custom content coupled with interactive learning technologies ranging from video to multimedia to the Internet.

Teachers and students will be trained to generate high quality micro-media curriculum modules that have potential commercial value in the global content marketplace. Schools and Libraries will be able to produce, acquire, preserve and maintain legacy archives that chronicle ongoing local development and historic fact. Please visit our pages for educators.if you have not already done so.

How to Participate

Teachers, Librarians and Learners can now structure their own customized curriculum enrichment activities through active participation in our diverse projects and programs. By participating in our in-depth, sustained professional development activities rooted in technology integration, teachers will be better able to develop innovative localized technology applications that have the potential to make learning literally come alive in virtually all disciplines.

We need educators and students to share with us their aspirations for more effectively integrating technology into their disciplines by participating in our African Memory Project Communities of Practical Engagement (COPE) that help us construct additional culture-specific frameworks and activities that satisfy their unique individual needs, pedagogy and the students’ style of learning.

These content creation resources will help you get started. Followup training will be provided.
